Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which begins next week depending on your Nordstrom card status. This is one of my favorite sales of the year because the prices are fantastic and the sale includes new arrivals for the fall and winter season. In today’s blog post I am sharing some tips, my wish list items and how I go about shopping the sale.
IMPORTANT DATES
July 12, 2021 - Early access for cardmembers with Icon status.
July 14, 2021 - Early access for cardmembers with Ambassador status.
July 16, 2021 - Early access for cardmembers with Influencer status.
July 28, 2021 - Anniversary sale opens to the general public.
You can shop the sale online beginning at 3am ET/12am PT on the day of your card status or in store during regular store hours. More information including Nordy Club & Cardmember benefits, FAQs and Anniversary Sale details can be found here.
First off, I wanted to start by saying that you don’t need to purchase anything from the sale. I am in no way pushing anyone to buy, rather my intent is to show you my favorites and share the process I take so I avoid over buying. Nothing in this sale will change your life and at the end of the day, these are all just things. To start, I make a list on my phone of items I’ve been on the hunt for, then check my closet to confirm. I also assess if there’s anything for fall / winter that I need. I’ve saved items to two separate wishlists in my Nordstrom account; one list for need items and the other list for “it’d be nice to have” items. My general rule when shopping: if it’s not a heck yes, then it’s a no.
My wishlist:
Free People Swim Too Deep Turtleneck Sweater
Free People Sweaters are item and I look out for every year during the sale. They are a great price and last for several years. I’m excited about this lighter color, which can go so well with both black and tan colors.
BLANKNYC The Madison Ripped Crop Straight Leg Jeans
These jeans caught my eye because of the fit, the minor distressing, high waist and the price. Would be very flattering with booties or white sneakers. These are a great deal for denim!
SARTO by Franco Sarto Dalari Slip-On Sneaker
I love a cute white sneaker. So versatile for pretty much every season here in Northern California. Franco Sarto shoes are very comfortable too.
Vinci Merino Wool Blend Longline Cardigan
My splurge item this year. Both the camel and grey colors are beautiful. Such a staple piece that will last for years to come.
Nordstrom Floppy Wool Felt Panama Hat
I have been on a bit of a hat kick this summer. Mainly due to my melasma, I’ve been trying to keep my face out of the sun as much as possible. This is a great fall option and the price is fantastic too.
These are my favorite pajamas, hands-down. I swear they have a cult following. I’ve tried the Target knock offs but they don’t last as long and quite frankly they don’t even compare. These are great if you are laid up for a while or if you just want some very soft cozy PJs. They also come in cropped and shorts with a short sleeved top.
The North Face Osito Flow Fleece Jacket
I purchased a very similar North Face black fleece from the sale a few years ago and have worn it religiously since. It’s in desperate need of being replaced, so I have my eye on this one.
Hunter Original Waterproof Chelsea Rain Boot
Knowing my luck, Northern California won’t get a drop of rain if I purchase these. But I’m willing to take my chances. I have the traditional tall Hunter boots but am looking for a less involved option.
Treasure & Bond Funnel Neck Pullover
This is a great transition piece for fall because of the shorter neck as compared to a traditional turtleneck sweater. Also comes in light grey and black.
Marine Layer Lexi Daytime Rib Midi Dress
I love a good striped dress. These colors can transition well from late summer to fall to winter. Pair with a denim or suede jacket for cooler weather.
I haven’t hopped on this trend yet because oversized shirts tend to swallow me, but the length on this one will hopefully fit me a bit better. These colors are cute for fall and can be paired with jeans or black leggings.
Halogen Long Sleeve Modal Blend Tee
These long sleeves are incredibly soft and a great layering piece for fall and winter. I have the black and white on my list but their B&W striped is also cute!
I purchased these during the sale last year and have lived in them. They are a stretchy athletic material and are long enough for taller ladies (I’m 5’10” for reference).
Minnetonka Teddy Faux Shearling Slipper
Perfect for anyone working from home. These look so soft and cozy. Great for roll out of bed and stroll to the next room / office to start work for the day. Just add some coffee and Nordstrom PJs and you’re set!
Madewell The Perfect Vintage Jeans
I have a pair of these jeans in a different wash so I’m planning on snagging another! I’m kind of over the skinny jean look for the most part and these are very flattering. They look cute with sandals, sneakers and booties.
The North Face Cragmont Hooded Fleece Coat
A friend and I were eyeing a very similar jacket to this style (shorter version) last year but my long-torso self was very excited to see this length! Also comes in this gorgeous green color.
Happy shopping!
