Christmas Decor 2021

Every year I purchase a few new pieces of Christmas decor. I stick to statement pieces that are classic and can last over time, staying away from too many “things” or clutter type items. This year I stuck to greenery, adding these two wreaths, garland for our stairs and a wreath for above our bed. The two faux seeded eucalyptus wreaths on our office doors are from Anthropologie and I couldn’t be happier with how realistic they look. They are also lightweight, which was important since we decided to hang them directly on the glass doors. I also purchased a larger norfolk pine wreath from Afloral for above our bed.

Since we moved in, I have been waiting to add garland to our staircase during Christmas. I found this faux cedar garland from Terrain in two different sizes, 6’ and 9’. We tied them with clear zip ties on to the bannister, then covered the zip ties with layers of ribbon. I found the most beautiful ribbon from AnastasiaMarieShop on Etsy. She has multiple sizes, colors, textures and patterns. We went with a deep wine bordeaux as our main color with a couple other neutrals. The ribbon will also last year to year and is an easy way to switch out or add different colors in the future.

I used the extra ribbon on our tree to add a little pop of color and texture. Our tree is also a bit challenging to find a traditional topper, so I opted for a larger bow. Most of our tree decor is from either McGee & Co., Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel or West Elm collected over the years. Hoping everyone has a lovely Christmas season.
